Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi has criticized Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar’s press conference after Bilawal’s departure from the SCO summit, stating that it was against diplomatic ethics. Qureshi added that as a senior diplomat, Jaishankar should not have spoken irresponsibly and unnecessarily. He also pointed out that Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal was invited to India, and there was a thought that he should not go due to the Hindutva thinking. However, Bilawal attended the summit as it was an important regional forum.
Qureshi further stated that when a person like the foreign minister goes to India, there is a due etiquette for the host, and despite differences with Bilawal, this has become a mockery of the entire nation. He also added that India is using terrorism as a shield, and Pakistan’s seasoned diplomats should have advised Bilawal before his departure to India.
Regarding the prevailing political situation, Qureshi mentioned that the rulers are not looking at law, constitution, and equality for their purpose. He also stated that section 144 was imposed despite allowing the rally in Multan and Lahore, and they are moving to court against the ban on rallies in Multan. Finally, Qureshi asserted that the spirit of SCO has been defeated, and before pointing fingers at Pakistan, India should see the dossier of Pakistan, which exposed terrorism and fanaticism of India.
