The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Saturday that six terrorists were killed in a clearance operation in the Muslim Bagh town of Balochistan, a day after a terrorist attack on a Frontier Constabulary (FC) camp. According to the ISPR press release, the clearance operation was completed this morning, with all six well-equipped terrorists in the compound being killed. However, in the process, seven individuals, including a civilian, were martyred, and six others were injured, including a woman. The statement also mentioned that a hostage rescue operation was carried out to save three families from a residential block. The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, expressed his deep grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of six soldiers of Pakistan Army and one civilian. Since the talks with the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) broke down in November last year, the law and order situation in the country has worsened, with terrorist groups executing attacks with near impunity across the country. The TTP has intensified its attacks, particularly targeting the police in KP and areas bordering Afghanistan. In addition, the group is reportedly forging a nexus with Baloch separatists and local militant groups based in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, further exacerbating the already precarious security situation in the country. The surge in terrorist activity has led the security forces to remain determined to thwart all attempts at sabotaging peace, stability, and progress in Balochistan.
