Lahore – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan strongly criticized the arrest of his party stalwart, Firdous Shamim Naqvi, under terrorism charges on Sunday.
Taking to Twitter, the former prime minister expressed his discontent, stating that Firdous had joined him 27 years ago and shared his vision of a just and humane society for Pakistan.
Imran Khan further mentioned that Firdous had stood by him during challenging times, despite facing numerous disappointments in the initial 14 years of their journey together. He acknowledged Firdous’s strong character, rooted in a powerful belief system, which enabled him to persevere and not give up.
Highlighting Firdous’s battle with cancer, the PTI chief noted that he had demonstrated remarkable dignity and strength in handling the disease. Imran Khan expressed his disappointment that a person like Firdous, who had shown such resilience, was being imprisoned on terrorism charges, emphasizing the moral decline of those in power.
Imran Khan’s remarks on Twitter reflect his condemnation of Firdous Shamim Naqvi’s arrest and his disapproval of the authorities’ actions, questioning their motives and the appropriateness of the charges.
