In a meeting addressing the law and order situation in the country, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif drew comparisons between the violence perpetrated by the PTI on May 9 and the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Referring to the incidents, the Prime Minister likened the PTI’s actions to the TTP’s act of setting fire to the Jinnah House in Ziarat, highlighting that the PTI had similarly set fire to Jinnah House in Lahore, which now serves as the Core Commander’s residence.
Recalling the TTP’s attack on the GHQ (General Headquarters), the Prime Minister stated that the PTI, whom he referred to as enemies of the state, had also targeted the GHQ. Furthermore, he highlighted the vandalism of the Radio Pakistan office in Peshawar during the riots on May 9.
Expressing concern, the Prime Minister emphasized that these events would have a lasting psychological impact on the nation for years to come.
The Prime Minister’s remarks during the meeting shed light on his assessment of the situation and his comparison between the PTI’s violence and the TTP’s attacks. The remarks serve to underline the gravity of the May 9 incidents and their potential implications for the country’s stability and national psyche.
