In a devastating incident near Thana Nawab Shah, a collision between two coaches near Balochpur Stop has resulted in the loss of 7 lives and left 42 individuals injured. According to the police, among the injured are women and children. Police and rescue teams rushed to the scene to provide immediate medical assistance and transport the injured to Nawaabshah Hospital. The authorities, along with the emergency response teams, were actively engaged in their efforts at the accident site.One of the deceased individuals has been identified as Qurban Mirani, with reported ties to the Ghotki area. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Be-Nazir Abad, Mohammad Younus Chandiyo, confirmed the number of fatalities in an interview with Dawn News. He also mentioned that the injured were receiving medical aid at the People’s University of Medical and Health Sciences.According to the DIG, the accident occurred on the Dur Bandhi Road after 4 am. Two coaches traveling from Karachi and Peshawar collided due to excessive speed, leading to the tragic incident. Following the accident, the Mehran Highway was closed for traffic, redirecting vehicles towards the National Highway.It is noteworthy that recent months have witnessed multiple traffic accidents, resulting in the loss of several lives and leaving numerous individuals injured. The frequency of these incidents has raised concerns about road safety and the need for stringent measures to prevent such tragedies.In a separate incident on June 17, on the Islamabad-Lahore Motorway near Kalar Kahar, 13 individuals lost their lives and 31 were injured as a result of a bus accident.
