On Sunday, it came to light that at least five First Information Reports (FIRs) have been lodged in various locations across Punjab against the Ahmadi community for engaging in animal sacrifices during Eidul Azha.
Copies of the complaints, obtained by Dawn.com, reveal that these FIRs have been registered under Section 298-C of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
Section 298-C of the PPC pertains to the punishment for Ahmadis who identify themselves as Muslims or engage in preaching or propagating their faith.
Among the registered cases, two have been filed at the Saddar Gojra police station in Toba Tek Singh, while one each has been recorded at the Saddar Shahkot police station in Nankana Sahib, Roshanwala police station in Faisalabad, and the Badami Bagh police station in Lahore.
