Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, will travel to Russia at President Vladimir Putin’s invitation in the coming days, according to the Kremlin on Monday.
In spite of the fact that Russia withheld additional information, South Korean media reported on Monday that a special train thought to be transporting Kim had left Pyongyang and that a meeting with Putin might happen as soon as Tuesday.
Kim and Putin are scheduled to meet this month, according to statements made by American officials last week.
John Kirby, a spokesperson for the U.S. National Security Council, has discussed American worries that North Korea may consider arming Russian forces battling in Ukraine.
