In the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023, the Pakistan cricket team will go head-to-head against their arch-rivals India at the controversial venue of Gujarat, according to a report by ESPNcricinfo. The report reveals the draft schedule of the tournament, stating that despite reservations from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), the Pakistan vs India clash will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.The draft schedule has been sent to the International Cricket Council (ICC), and now the participating member boards will provide their feedback before the final announcement is made. The proposed schedule outlines that Pakistan will play their group-stage matches across five venues. Alongside Ahmedabad, they will face qualifying teams on October 6 and 12 in Hyderabad, Australia in Bengaluru on October 20, Afghanistan on October 23, and South Africa on October 27 in Chennai. Their matches against Bangladesh, New Zealand, and England will be held in Kolkata and Bengaluru on October 31, November 5 (day match), and November 12, respectively.On the other hand, India is scheduled to play their matches at all nine venues selected for the tournament. They will kick off their campaign against Australia on October 8 in Chennai. The tournament will commence with the opening match between defending champions England and ICC World Cup 2019 finalists New Zealand on October 5.While the venues for the semi-finals are yet to be determined, the final is set to take place in Ahmedabad on November 19.
