ISLAMABAD: On Monday, Judge Abual Hasnat Muhammad Zulqarnain from an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad granted a three-day physical remand of Ali Wazir, a leader of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM), and Imaan Mazari, a human rights lawyer, into the custody of the police.
The prosecution had initially requested a 10-day physical remand.
Both Imaan and Wazir were apprehended by the capital’s law enforcement in the early hours of Sunday on separate charges related to their alleged involvement in state affairs. They were individually implicated in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act and were subsequently placed under police custody for their alleged “interference in state affairs,” as ordered by Duty Judicial Magistrate Ehtisham Alam Khan.
