Imran Khan, the chairman of the PTI, and Shah Mahmood Qureshi, the vice chairman, had their post-arrest bail requests in the cipher case denied by the special court under the Official Secrets Act.

After all parties involved had finished their arguments, Judge Abul Hasanat Zulqernain had reserved his decision.

Shah Khawar, the special prosecutor, demanded that everybody present during the session who wasn’t permitted leave or take an oath. He claimed that PTI lawyers make tapes and that the hearting occurs in-camera.

The judge gave the journalists and those who were not relevant the go-ahead to leave the courtroom.

The bail petition’s arguments were concluded by PTI attorney Sher Afzal Marwat.

The PTI attorney stated that the prime minister is not responsible for ensuring the security of any documents that enter the PM House.

He said that it is the principal secretary’s responsibility.

Asad Umar, the head of the PTI, has previously had his pre-arrest bail in the cipher case allowed by the Official Secrets Act court in Islamabad. The court ordered Asad Umar to post a Rs. 50,000 surety bond.

Despite Asad Umar’s request, the prosecution did not involve him in the inquiry, the court ruled in the verdict.
