On Sunday, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar declared that the cost of petrol would remain steady at Rs282 per litre for the next two weeks, while the price of high-speed diesel would decrease by Rs5 per litre to Rs288. In a video statement, he also announced that the prices of light-diesel oil and kerosene would be lowered by Rs10 to Rs164.68 and Rs176.07 per litre, respectively. The Finance Ministry had made every effort to negotiate the price adjustments in the country’s favor, according to Dar, following recommendations from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority. He added that the ultimate price adjustments had been agreed upon after several rounds of discussions.
