Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan was allegedly illegally detained at the Islamabad High Court despite securing bail, as he waited for security clearance to leave for Lahore. The Islamabad Police allowed Khan and his entourage to leave the court premises after he released a video message stating that he was being held against his will. Khan left in the Islamabad deputy inspector general’s vehicle accompanied by state security. The former prime minister had been granted blanket relief in multiple cases by the court, but he remained detained for over three hours. The situation was intensified when shots were fired at law enforcement agencies in Islamabad’s G-11 and G-13 Sectors, leading to a search operation across the high court. The Rangers were recalled to assist the police in handling the situation, while the police continue to monitor the situation. No casualties were reported in the incidents.
