The Rajasthan Royals suffered a humiliating loss to the Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The skipper of the Royals, Sanju Samson, was left speechless after his team’s batters put up a dismal performance, getting bundled out for just 59 runs, the third-lowest innings total ever in the IPL.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore, captained by Faf du Plessis, won the match by a whopping 112 runs after posting a score of 171 for five. In response, the Royals crumbled, with the entire team being dismissed in just 10.3 overs. South African quick Wayne Parnell was the most successful bowler for the Royal Challengers Bangalore, with figures of 3/10 from three overs.
The famed batting lineup of the Rajasthan Royals failed to deliver, with the home team reduced to 5/28 in the powerplay, from which it could never recover. Samson expressed his disappointment with the team’s performance, stating that he had “no answer” to the poor showing from his batters. The defeat leaves the Rajasthan Royals languishing at the bottom of the IPL standings, while the Royal Challengers Bangalore move up to third place.
